Skincare Heroes
We’ve written about our skincare routines before and both love to try new products, but for our daily routines, we both have items that we just can’t live without. There are certain products that we keep going back to, while others we love but we try them once and move on. That happens to me (Eloise) all the time with expensive products-I’ll splurge once on Vintner’s Daughter serum or Dr. Bader’s moisturizer, but unless they’re truly miracle creams, I probably won’t do it again. The things that I go back to are something that I know work for my skin and my budget. Plus they have to look and feel great-we want our skincare to be fun and make us feel good!

COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin
People tend to look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them about this, but the COSRX Snail Mucin is the foundation of my skincare routine and what actually started me with getting more serious about it. It’s definitely a little bit slimy, but it goes on very smoothly, absorbs quickly and helps to prep my skin and give it extra moisture. I’ve also definitely noticed that my blemishes heal faster since I started using it, and my skin just overall has a better texture.
COSRX acne Pimple Master Patches
My acne was mostly under control, until the pandemic, and stress and masks made it go crazy again! Outside of regular chemical exfoliation and keeping my routine, these pimple patches have been the most-used skincare tool I have. You put them on at night (or can wear them under a mask during the day!) and they absorb all of the gunk out of blemishes. They work best on whiteheads or anything that has been popped, and help them heal significantly faster. Yes, I look insane going to bed at night, but I wake up with any acne on it’s way to disappearing for good.
Drunk Elephant C Firma
There are less expensive Vitamin C serums, but I have yet to use one that gives me the results I see from this one. It makes my skin incredibly glowy and has helped to fade dark marks from both acne and sun damage. When I started using it I saw a visible difference and when I have run out or tried something in it’s place I always see a noticeable improvement when I go back to it.
Drunk Elephant Protini Polypetide moisturizer
Not every product from Drunk Elephant works for me, but the ones that do, really really do. With this moisturizer, my skin is smoother, glowier and even less prone to breakouts when I’m wearing it. It’s thick enough for winter, but absorbs easily into my skin in the summer.
Dr. dennis gross alpha beta extra strength daily Peel
My skin really responds well to glycolic acid, and using these pads when I feel like my skin is really dull or about to breakout, or right before a big event, makes a huge difference. They are definitely strong, so I can’t use them too regularly without getting dried out, but I somehow feel better knowing I have them in my back pocket in case of emergency.
Eloise
Clark’s Botanicals Dual Charcoal Detox
I love this detoxifying face wash. It cleans my skin with stripping it of moisture because it has two kinds of the charcoal-one absorbs impurities while the activated charcoal gently physically exfoliates the skin. Plus, it has several other ingredients like jasmine and ginger to brighten and soothe the skin. I massage it on my face at night and then let it sit for a few minutes while it continues to work. After I rinse it off, my face feels like a clean slate and is ready to absorb any nighttime treatments or moisturizer.
Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
Like I said above, I’ve tried more expensive face oils, but I always go back to this one. The Biossance does a great job of giving me moisture and glow at a much more reasonable price tag. Plus it’s a clean product. I’ll tap this on anytime during the day when I’m feeling like my skin looks dry or wrinkly and I love it as an extra layer at night when I really want to seal all of my treatments and moisture in.
Farmacy Honeymoon Glow
This a great one to use a few times a week at night to exfoliate and wake up glowing. It smooths my skin and gets rids of any roughness or dull spots and is gentle enough to not cause any redness or irritation. I’ve never found anything that compared, but I just ordered the Biossance Lactic Acid Resurfacing Serum, which is a similar treatment that gets rave reviews, so I’m excited to compare them and see which I prefer.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
Whenever my skin is feeling a little sad, my go-to solution is the Honeymoon Glow followed by the Jet Lag Mask. I leave them both on overnight and when I wake up in the morning, my skin is 100% happier. The thing that I love about the Jet Lag mask that can be hard to find is that it both calms and reduce any blemishes or clogged pores and it also deliver a big hit of moisture for dry or tired skin. It truly works with all skin issues and is probably my most used product of all time.
Supergoop Play Sunscreen
My favorite everyday sunscreen, it delivers moisture and sun protection without clogging pores. Even if it’s raining, I always put this on as the final step in my morning routine because it add a final hit of moisture and locks everything in. If I want a bit of color, I’ll mix in the Supergoop Glow as well. It’s clean and I can use it on my kids as well! I’ve tried sunscreens ranging from invisible to mattifying to super thick, and this is the perfect balance of solid sun coverage without smothering my skin.
