Skincare Reset for Winter
The temperature dropped last week and it seemed like all the moisture in the air and in my skin fled along with it. Does that happen to anyone else? It’s the holidays, so even if if we’re at home, our eating and sleeping routines get slightly out of whack, and that combined with the temperature changes and wearing masks can wreak havoc on your skin. We’ve refreshed our skin care routines for winter weather and to keep our skin healthy and glowing even if we do stay up too late drinking champagne a few nights in a row.

Eloise’s Winter Routine
In the morning, I like to wash my face with something very gentle like the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. Then I use the Beautycounter Vitamin C serum to even out my skin tone and texture, followed a few minutes later by the Rodin and Fields Active Hydration Serum (it’s full of hyaluronic acid and very moisturizing but light). If I’m feeling dry, then I’ll layer on the Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair cream on my forehead and cheeks and I always top it all off with Supergoop Sunscreen. I really believe that the sunscreen really helps to seal in all the moisture!
In the evenings, I try to reset my skin if I’m having any issues. A few nights a week, I swear by the combination of putting on the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow, letting that sink in for a bit and then putting on a thick coat of the Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask. It helps me to address and clogged pores or mascne but is also really moisturizing and smooths out any dryness or texture issues. I also just started using the Shani Darden Retinol Reform twice a week after reading some rave reviews about it. On the other nights, I keep it simple and use the Beautycounter Countertime Cream or Vitner’s Daughter Serum, and any night that I feel like I need more moisture, I layer in the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil, which my skin drinks up and loves.
For my eyes, I use the Kiehl’s Powerful Strength Dark Circle Reducing Vitamin C Eye Serum, and the Glossier Bubblewrap for extra plumping.
Dinah’s Winter Routine
Morning: I start my day with the Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser, a really nice and gentle gel cleanser that doesn’t take any moisture from my skin, but gives it a good reset. Then I use my beloved COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence as my base, which acts as a great base for the rest of the routine. Next comes my Drunk Elephant duo, C Firma Vitamin C Day Serum, followed by the Protini Polypeptide Cream. This daily trio makes my skin the happiest and glowiest out of anything I have tried. I top it all off with the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, and then my final step is Tatcha’s The Pearl, a combo eye cream and concealer that is super hydrating and blends in really well. I love being able to give moisture to that area and also get rid of my dark circles at the same time.
Evening: First I take everything off with the Garnier Micellar Water and my favorite reusable cotton rounds. In the winter, I still need to exfoliate (especially with masks), but my skin can’t handle quite as much. Twice a week, I use the Pixi Glow Tonic, and if I am feeling super broken out or dull (usually once every two weeks), I use the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel, which is a two step process that gives very intense exfoliation. After those, I apply COSRX Snail Mucin and then usually the Drunk Elephant F Balm for extra hydration. On other nights of the week, I keep it very simple with just the COSRX and Protini, adding the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil on top. If I want more moisture, I will either do the Lush Beauty Sleep Mask right after I wash my face, which gives your face a hydrated, dewy glow or use COSRX and then the Youth to the People Vitamin C Squalane mask overnight instead of Protini. Finally, I pop on some COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patches over any blemishes, GrandeLASH on my lash line then the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter all over my hands.
