Monday Missive: March 21
The girls were on spring break this week, so we were back down in Georgia seeing all the sights! We went to a turtle rescue, an alligator (and other wildlife) refuge, Jekyll Island, St. Simon’s Island, Amelia Island-any island that we could get to! It was so amazing to be in warm weather and I’m seriously excited about becoming a snow bird one day and migrating south for the winter. - E
I am so jealous of all of Eloise’s adventures, as I was in Boston having another absolutely insane week at work. While I didn’t see any exciting wildlife, I did get back into a solid routine and managed to go to bed early, read every night and have a few phone catch ups with old friends. I’m traveling this weekend so it will be nice to have another cozy week. - D

What We’re Reading and Watching
Adam Scott is right up there with Paul Rudd for me-they’re both very smart, funny and non-threateningly handsome men-so I loved this article. Although, it cracked me up that the article lead was his lack of enthusiasm for Lil’ Sebastian, haha! I guess that is kind of shocking for someone from the Parks and Rec universe. -E
Is anyone else watching Abbot Elementary? It’s a half hour sitcom about teachers at a school in Philadelphia that is perfect for when you want something light and funny and quick that also tugs on the heart string just a little. Kind of like Parks and Rec, now that I think about it. -E
The men in my family are all totally in to the Formula 1: Drive to Survive racing show, on Netflix and I read an article that drew a lot of line between the show and Real Housewives, so I need to check it out too. Very wealthy people, competition between team members, and oversized egos-sounds like just the kind of show that I like! -E
On Friday night we wanted something silly to watch and started Is It Cake? on Netflix. The premise is people making cakes that look like real objects, and having other people guess which ones are cake from a distance. It’s so dumb and also amazing if you want something easy to watch! - D
I read another Grace Atwood rec, Castles in Their Bones, about three princesses who are triplets and sent to marry into three other royal families and destroy them from within so their mother can take over. I really enjoyed it and if you like that kind of YA fantasy, I definitely recommend it! - D
Nothing is more fun in royal watching than a tour - I always learn so much about the places they visit and love seeing the royals in different environments than we usually see. William and Kate are in Belize, the Bahamas and Jamaica this week and I can’t wait to see what they get up to! If you want to follow along, I recommend Chris Jackson, the Getty photographer on the tour, who also happens to be married to one of Kate’s most trusted aides. - D
What We’re Buying
When we were shopping on Amelia Island, we spent a lot of time in Pearl. The girls wanted all the Lilly Pulitzer (plus matching jammies for Trucks), and I had so much fun looking at the CK Bradley line that they carry. So many fun dresses and skirts that a bit of timeless 60’s feel. -E
Biossance lip balm is the best and I was constantly applying it through all the flights and weather changes over the week of travel. -E
Serena and Lily is still running their 20% off sale and I’m eying this blue and white block print quilt and shams and these sheets for a full bed refresh. I also love this rug and the gingham tablecloths. -E
I’m also eyeing these lamps for my office. They look much higher end than their price tag and I think some cool lampshades like these blue and white ones on Etsy would really finish them off nicely. -E
My dresser has become a “pain point” for me in my daily life since my boyfriend moved in. It’s always messy and cluttered and my jewelry feels like it’s everywhere, so I bought this organizer, with a ton of space for earrings, which I by far have the most of. I’m excited to get a little bit more order!
What We’re Making
My boyfriend and I have been majorly struggling with motivating ourselves to cook creative meals, so we decided to sign up for Hello Fresh! The first week of recipes was really fun, although we definitely learned things along the way, like that we need to add a little bit more heat to certain things. We ordered three nights of meals and it was a big relief to not have to meal plan and shop. - D
