Monday (Tuesday) Missive: May 31
Memorial Day Weekend was such a wonderful time to be together with family and friends and kick of the summer. After a very heavy week, I zipped up to Rhode Island with Cece and got to see our brother and sister in law’s new house and puppy (both are exceptionally cute!), go out for lunch with our mom and grandmother (four generations together!) and then see so many friends and Dinah and our brothers. Cece and I then zipped back down to Maryland to head out on the boat with Chad and the girls and celebrate Memorial Day, while Dinah headed up to the Cape to finish out her long weekend. If the rest of the summer is filled with that much fun, it’s going to be one for the record books! Also, I may need to take a nap because I’m not sure that Dinah and I and our mom ever sat down or stopped talking when we were together. -E
What We’re Reading and Watching
I read Emily Henry’s newest novel Book Lovers and it was my favorite book of hers to date. Nora Stephens is a very successful literary agent, who see book tropes all around her and whose nickname is “The Shark” for good reason. When she meets Charlie Lastra, an editor, it’s defitniely not a meet cute, but when her sister and a small town get involved and uproot Nora from her routines, anything might happen. I loved Nora and Charlie and the smaller characters and enjoyed every minute of the book.
New goal for the summer: leaving my phone at home as much as possible.
Everything you need to know about manifestation.
We watched Red Notice with Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot last night. It was a silly but fun art heist that isn’t going to win any awards but is good for some summer movie fun.
Lila got me Spectacular Spreads for Mother’s Day and I’m determined to put together a party asap so that I have an excuse to put together one of their amazing board ideas! It’s killing me that I don’t know exactly when our pool construction is going to be finished so that I can plan something.
What We’re Buying
I got the perfect white jeans at OMO this weekend. Frame Le Crop Mini Boot, and I went up one size because they’re white and fairly stiff, so I didn’t want to risk looking to stuffed into them.
Also totally obsessed with all of the cute earrings that OMO carries, like these with blue and white stripes, these floral hoops, and these neutral rectangles.
Obsessed with the print on this J.Crew Factory dress-it looks so high end!
These woven ballet flats are calling my name!
So are these wrap sandals.
Do you think I could talk Cece into being midi skirt twins with me?
Loving this sunscreen right now-I’m giving it all the credit for Lila not getting a terrible sunburn after a day on the boat.
What We’re Making
Looking for some easy dinners that people can eat at all different times this week while we finish up our crazy end of the school year schedules. Thinking these wraps could be just the thing…
Very cute breakfast ideas for kids and beyond! (will somebody please make me the Blooming Spring Toasts?)
