Valentine's Day Reads
Valentine’s Day is peak season for romance novels! (Another date that’s perfect for a romance novel binge? Whenever the new season of Bridgerton drops, hooray!) I may be wearing six layers of flannel because it’s so darn cold, but in reading world, it’s time for a steamy romance between an English Lord and the mysterious widow that he’s inexplicably drawn to after evading match making mamas for years. Or maybe it’s the hunky PE teacher who’s caught your eye? Or the immortal who’s been looking for love for the past century, but has only now felt the stirrings of his non existent heart for the first time? Agh-I’m having way too much fun with this! It’s safe to say that winter, when we are all hiding at home and not bothering to shave our legs and or take off our cozy socks, is the perfect time for some fictional romance.
We’re rounding up some of favorites below and many of them are series, which is even better!
Romance Novels
Bombshell by Sarah MacLean is the first book in a new Victorian-era romance series centered around a group of women who take down misbehaving men - sexy feminism in period dress!
The Westcott Series by Mary Balogh for some traditional titled English romance (although many of the heroines are older or have actual issues to work through).
The Idea of You by Robinne Lee - this much-discussed book is basically fan fic about a chic, French mom who starts a secret affair with a Harry Styles-inspired pop star. It’s silly, and sexy and a very fun read!
Rom Coms
The Summer Job by Lizzy Dent about a woman who pretends to be her sommelier best friend at a Scottish resort for a summer - and finds herself in far deeper than she expected, with a dreamy chef to flirt with!
The Wedding Date series by Jasmine Guillory. Set in the present day with women with exciting careers and lives who never want to fall in love but get struck by Cupid’s arrow against their best intentions.
Don’t You Forget About Me and other books by Mhairi McFarlane.
Love, Lists and Fancy Ships for fans of Below Deck and bucket lists!
The Well Met series by Jen DeLuca for anyone who has fascination with a hot teacher…
Star Crossed Lovers
Crave series by Tracy Wolff, our recent favorite YA vampire series about a girl whose parents die and discovers her uncle is the headmaster at a boarding school for supernatural teens. Twilight meets Harry Potter!
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, a few years old, but so beautifully written about two magician’s apprentices working in a circus and locked in a battle they aren’t even aware of, until they fall in love.
