Three Things Eloise is Talking About This Week:
Utility Jacket from Banana Republic: I’m starting to switch from summer mindset to prepping for fall. Thinking about all of my kids doing online learning again has me feeling very overwhelmed, so it seems like it could be the perfect time to really commit to a capsule wardrobe-at least getting dressed would be simple! I’m thinking headbands, stretchy black and navy pants, white t-shirts and longer sweaters and jackets like this one and this one that I saw recommended by Merritt Beck. She puts together amazing capsule wardrobes on her site, The Style Scribe, and I’m always inspired by her choices.
Dog Beds: Now that Mister Trucks has reached his full size (fingers crossed!), it feels like it’s time to refresh his collar and get him a cute new bed. I love everything at The Foggy Dog and I think T would look so cute in this collar and that this bed would look perfect in my office.
Brad Goreski on Instagram: Nothing is making me laugh harder these days than Brad Goreski in a wig, reenacting Real Housewife fights. I’ve always thought he was funny, but this is next level. If you’re a housewives fan, you should definitely be following him!
Three Things Dinah is Talking About This Week:
Rattan Baskets: I mentioned last week that since I got Boston, I have been focusing on projects in my apartment. One of those is figuring out how to organize my masks so that they are easy to grab on my way out the door. I have them in a bowl right now, but have my eye on these rattan baskets from MUJI. They are just the right size and will look cute sitting on the bench in my entryway, and also fit into my built-in shelves when the day comes that masks aren’t a necessity! I got two, one for clean masks and one to put dirty masks in when i walk through the door from a run or work.
Maskne: I am wearing my mask much more these days, on runs, walking around the city - it’s way more than I have been during my time in RI. With that is coming maskne, especially on the sides of my face, where I don’t usually get big breakouts. I’ve worked the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peels back into my routine a few days a week to help keep it at bay, and so far I definitely see a difference! They are a little bit expensive, but I only need to use them two or three times a week, so the box will last for a while.
Salt + Shimmer: I found Salt + Shimmer Artistry through Boston Common Magazine last week. Rachele Milordi makes the prettiest cutting boards, ring dishes, coasters, art pieces and more that use resin and a special process to look like the waves on the shore. I love the idea of giving these as wedding or hostess gifts to anyone who loves the ocean. I also love that she has the light blue, tropical option and also a darker blue, the color New Englanders are used to the water being!
