Holiday Table Setting Inspiration
We love setting the tables at the holidays-it’s a low stress way to be festive, you can get the kids involved, and you can finally use all the fancy china! We played with two different table settings this year and had so much fun setting them up with things that we had around the house.
I have a set of red napkins and a set of green napkins that I got from a local company, Hen House Linens, a few years ago and they are lifesavers all year round, but especially at the holidays because they work with so many different table setting ideas. We decided to keep the tablecloths white so that all of the decor would stand out, and I was very happy with the way that turned out, although I also love a patterned tablecloth.
We also used a few special touches from my friends Jenny’s company, Your Preppy Present, and she can put a monogram or personalized design on almost anything and give it that extra special touch.
Pastel Treescape:
For this table setting, we decided to go all in on our love of Christmas trees and holiday sweets. We lined pastel bottle brush trees of all sizes down the center of the table, along with a few cute woodland animals, and kept that look going on the mantle of the fireplace so that the whole room was incorporated. Gold pinecone place cards holders that the girls helped me make worked with the frosted rustic look (is there such a thing as sparkly rustic? If not, there should be!)
I really wanted to use a set of china that I got from my grandparents to go with the feminine feel of the table, but the pattern was pink and blue, so I wasn’t sure if it would work for Christmas. I ended up using red napkins with the china, and they pulled a brighter shade of pinky red from the flowers and it all complimented each other in a way that felt very organic to me. Tea cups and a very cute monogrammed cake stand completed the look.
Green and Red Berry Table
This table is a more traditional red and green and gold for a formal Christmas dinner. I’m so excited to use my Audubon china during the holidays, and it has pretty much every color in the rainbow, which gives me a lot fo flexibility with decorating around it. I also love love love these gold candlesticks with the birds that I found a few years ago, and once we had those in place along with my trusty green napkins and green chargers, it was just a matter of adding some red berries and greenery and a few other votive candles. We also mixed in some of my rattan candle sticks and glassware to ground the look and make it a little less formal-we love the contrast that they have with all of the gold.
