Easy Decorating For Fall

As soon as the temperatures drop, I get the itch to decorate for fall. Not a full-blown haunted house like my girls wish I would do, but a few autumn colored touches. I like to stick with simple this time of year, so I usually start by putting mums on the front steps and pumpkins outside and inside. Once we get closer to Halloween, I’ll put out the spooky decor that the kids love, but right now I’m keeping it to small touches that could stay up until Thanksgiving.

I went to Target the other day and got a new doormat and stocked up on pumpkins in all forms-felt, straw and candle shaped. I also picked up the Nest Pumpkin Spice diffuser for inside the house, and stopped by the farm stand near our house and bough as many mums as I could fit in my trunk. Now, I’m debating a wreath for the front door. I don’t usually do a fall wreath, but I found some very pretty ones at Williams Sonoma that I’m thinking could be the perfect finishing touch.

Mr. Trucks is helping me get ready for fall this week. He’s mostly trying to eat all of the yarn pumpkins and has figured out how to jump up to the top of the table so that he could grab one down. Such a stinker!

I do think he likes the new doormat that we got.
