Monday Missive: June 29
We’re back after taking last week off to celebrate our brother’s wedding! It was a beautiful event and we’re so happy for the gorgeous couple to begin this new phase of their lives. We have lots to share this week and will be posting pictures from the rehearsal dinner and wedding soon.
Three Things Eloise is Talking About This Week:
Half Baked Harvest’s Sticky Thai Meatballs: After an exciting weekend celebrating our brother’s wedding, I’m in that exhausted state where you just want to eat take out and lay on the couch. However, Half Baked Harvest has totally ruined take out for me because her recipes are so much better! These chicken meatballs have all the comfort of take out but with more zing and fresher flavors. I’m going to make extra sauce and add a bunch of broccoli to the pan at the end. I’ve also made these with konjac noodles, if you want to sub in a lower carb noodle option.
J.Crew Dress: I ordered a bunch of stuff from the J. Crew sale last week, and this dress is a hands-down winner. It’s labeled as a beach cover-up, but it’s lined and definitely nice to enough to wear as a dress. I wore it to dinner on Thursday night and got lots of compliments. It’s super light and airy for warm weather, but still covers your arms and legs. I’m wearing it again for the 4th of July this weekend.
Bitch Sesh is Back: My all-time favorite Real Housewives podcast is back after a brief hiatus and I’m so excited. Created by Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider, I love listening to the women break things down on that week’s episodes and controversies, share hilarious stories from their personal lives, and address all of the things that I think but would rarely be brave enough to say. They are hilarious and I get excited to go for a walk when I know there’s a new episode to listen to. If you like Bravo and you aren’t listening to their podcast, you’re really missing out. On my bucket list of post-quarantine activities: attend one of their lives shows and share some boots on the ground intel!
Three Things Dinah is Talking About This Week:
Petitfee Gold and Snail Hydrogel Eye Masks: Our brother got married last week at an intimate reception in our backyard which meant so much fun, but also a ton of work! With all that, plus less sleep and a few extra drinks, I had my mind on my beauty routine and how to look as rested as possible in those important photos. My favorite eye masks luckily made it down during one of my trips to Boston, so I was rocking them during prep most days! They have my favorite ingredient, snail mucin, and little gold flecks. The hydrogel texture makes them cooling and soothing - and makes them stay in place if you are running around doing last minute party set-up. Also they are SO affordable!
Royal Gossip: I love a royal gossip social media account and I recently discovered @what.meghan.wants (a riff off the rumor that Harry said before their wedding “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!” only to be told by The Queen that it was most definitely not the case). They break down recent Meghan and Harry news, aggregate stories and also get some pretty juicy insider tips. Please note - they are pretty fair, but not fans of Meghan as the name may imply.
Amazon The Drop: I feel a little bit nervous to give away this style secret, but Amazon has a recent addition called “The Drop” where they collaborate with Instagram influencers to design capsule collections, usually of 6-10 pieces, that are only available to buy for 30 hours (or until they sell out!). Eloise and I both bought pieces from Grace Atwood’s recent collection and are eyeing Fashion Jackson’s which is launching this week. They are pretty affordable, and made to order in your size. Some of the collections haven’t been my style, but that’s the beauty of it! I’m especially excited that Caralyn Mirand is designing the first size-inclusive collection later this summer.
