Three Things Eloise is Talking About This Week:
Cooking with Shelby: My friend, the amazing chef behind the ShellBees Kitchen has been doing a bee.Hour-a live cook along virtual class which has been so much fun-I’ve done every one! She has a Cocktails and Canapes class on Friday nights or a dinner class on Wednesdays-the margaritas, salsa and guacamole hour was amazing and the shrimp and cauliflower grits dinner was one of Chad’s favorite meals ever. Sign-up and cook along with us! Her instagram account is also full of gorgeous food inspiration-it’s inspired me to make so many meals or foods that I would normally be too intimidated to try.
Isle of Paradise Self-Tanner: After hearing a podcast interview with the Isle of Paradise company founder, Jules Von Hep, who is described as a human ray of sunshine, I was a total fan. I’ve ordered some of the self-tanning drops and mousse and can’t wait to try them. They’re clean, and they’re supposed to smell good and be very easy to apply. Plus, Von Hep’s story of how he became a celebrity spray tan guru, his personal struggles and his body positivity message are so inspiring!
Pillow Covers on Etsy: Since I’ve been sitting at home and fixating on everything in my house for the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to freshen up some of my decor. One easy and fun way to do that has been ordering new throw pillows on Etsy. I’ve found some great shops that feature classic fabrics from companies like Schumacher and Brunschwig Fils, and it’s been such a fun and easy way to give rooms a mini makeover. I just got a pair of throw pillows in the Brunschwig Fils Le Touche pattern from Pop of Color and the shop owner helped me to double check that the material worked with the other pillows that I already had and they shipped so quickly.
Three Things Dinah is Talking About This Week:
Cheesy Cheese : I love a fancy cheese board and in the last year have become obsessed with how to build delicious and esthetically pleasing ones. Enter Marissa Mullen, the genius behind @ThatCheesePlate and @CheeseByNumbers and her handy guides on Instagram. I’ve learned so much and am looking forward to diving into her new book, That Cheese Plate Will Change Your Life!
Summer Face Mask Chic: Our friends at Three Islands are selling the cutest three-packs of cotton face masks. Made with their signature fabric, these are a great, slightly lighter weight option for the summer that still meet the health guidelines. The elastics that go around the ears are similar to the loops you used as a kid to make pot holders on a loom, so they are very comfortable to wear but still feel secure. With face masks required everywhere you go, I love having a cute summery print to add to my outfit!
Influencer Drama: Has anyone else been following all of this Loop Giveaway drama online? I have definitely noticed a huge uptick in some accounts doing these contests, where you have to follow a large number of influencers to be entered to win a larger prize. I like to keep my feed pretty edited, so I never take part in them but several journalists have started to notice and are calling out the accounts doing them and how shady they are. This article is a great primer and I’m watching to see what happens next!
