Three Things Eloise is Talking About This Week:
Colored Glassware: I’m obsessed with upgrading my glassware this summer. Whether it’s something with color, something durable to use outside, or something with wicker, I’m feeling like it would give such a nice finishing touch to drinks outside or a nicely set table.
Palm Springs: Dinah and I watched this over the weekend and loved it. A new release on Hulu starring Cristin Miloti and Andy Samberg, who’s purchase price set a record at Sundance, it’s fun and thoughtful as well. In the movie, the main characters get stuck in a Groundhog Day-esque time loop, repeating the same day over and over again. Their experience of that day runs the gamut from silly to ridiculous to contemplative to tear-inducing. While it was made long before quarantine was a thing, it definitely adds a layer to watching it when you feel like you’ve also been waking up and doing the same thing over and over. Maybe I should start working on an elaborate dance number?
Headbands: I’ve been ordering headbands over the past week-they feel like just the right way to either camouflage dirty summer hair or keep hair off my face when it’s hot. I ordered this inexpensive straw headband, this cute and peppy headband in rainbow check, and this terry turban headband is looking like the perfect pool accessory that’s going to be next on my order list.
Three Things Dinah is Talking About This Week:
The BSC: Eloise and I have had so much fun with her girls this week watching the new Baby Sitters Club show on Netflix! This was my favorite book series growing up and I’ve always credited Stacy with being the reason why I wanted to move to NYC. They’ve updated the girls to fit modern times, while not losing the core of who they are or the small-town charm of Stonybrooke. We have both been feeling a little bit old with Alicia Silverstone playing Kristy’s mom, but she is great in the role and a strong anchor for a very well rounded cast.
Pearls of Palm Beach: Our dear family friend Holly Holden has published her second book, Pearls of Palm Beach, where she explores eight homes and their classic, Florida style. Holly is one of our favorite Instagram follows and we live for her weekly Mummy’s Monday Manners newsletter, which is full of hostessing and decorating tips (we will never put cutlery on top of a napkin again!). Her style is definitely timeless and traditional and a lovely escape into world of rules, manners and civility. We can’t wait to read this new book and get a peek at these fabulous homes!
Royal Cheers!: The Queen of England has apparently launched Buckingham Palace Gin, made from 12 different botanicals grown in the palace gardens. The gin will be available for sale in their shops and served at royal events! I launched a gin with a British brand I worked for a few years ago, so this absolutely delights me - it isn’t my favorite spirit, but it’s the most British one out there and a perfect choice for the royals. The bottle is gorgeous and the price point is very reasonable.
