Three Things Eloise is Talking About This Week:

Living in Clothes from PJ Salvage: While we’ve been spending all our time at home, I’m totally devoted to the incredibly soft loungewear and pajamas that I’ve gotten from PJ Salvage. How could you not love a company that divides their clothes into categories like Zen at Home, Date Night at Home and Virtually Active? I’ve been living in the banded joggers and they’re so cozy and have washed well.

Making Fried Brie: My whole family lives for baked brie, so when I saw this recipe, I knew that I would make it on Mother’s Day for the cocktail hour and that it would be amazing-and it was! I skipped the honey and olives because I wasn’t sure if my kids would like them, but even the pared down version was fantastic and the kids devoured it in three minutes flat. We served ours with Stoned Wheat Thins and some thinly sliced green apple and it was heaven.

Reading The Five Archetypes: By interpreting the five elements found in Traditional Chinese Medicine as different personality types, author Carey Davidson shows how you can start to predict your behavioral patterns, and those of your loved ones, and live with greater self-awareness and more harmony. I’m willing to do anything that promises greater harmony with those around me, since we’re currently together 24/7, and I thought that this book was spot on. I looked at it for myself and my family, and it was clear from the get go where we fell into Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. I literally laughed out when reading about the fire personality traits because they were so me, and I can’t wait to apply some of the things I learned and see where it leads us.

Three Things Dinah is Talking About This Week:

Recipe Inspiration: Staying at my parent’s house has been challenging during quarantine, mostly because cooking for one vs. cooking for four is a big difference. I’ve been trying to take advantage and make dishes that would normally be too much for just me. This falafel recipe has been a true standout - and allows me to force a vegetarian meal on the group every few weeks! I have been doubling it to make sure there is enough for our two adult brothers that have also been home - and make sure you don’t overprocess it so that it has that slightly chunky texture.

Follow This: I recently discovered the Twitter account Room Rater (@ratemyskyperoom) which rates and critiques people’s backgrounds during remote interviews. It’s hilarious and totally relatable as news shows and talk shows rely completely on experts and celebrities broadcasting from their own homes.

What I’m Watching: The new show from Ryan Murphy on Netflix “Hollywood.” The costumes, sets and hair/makeup are gorgeous and almost all of the main characters are shockingly nice, although very ambitious. I’ve loved being taken away to 1950’s Hollywood and rooting for all of these attractive people to do well. I also enjoy Ryan Murphy’s typical mix of ultra-attractive ingenues and iconic talent (Patti Lupone is a total joy in this!). While the show does have a ton of sex, it’s mostly cute men’s butts, so nothing that has been too horrifying to watch my extended family!
