Weekly Bravo Party: Iconic Housewives Fights
Since we are in a bit of a slow season at Bravo right now-RHONY and RHOBH are done, RHOSLC and RHOC don’t start for a few week, and I’ve officially given up watching Below Deck Med, Potomac was really our only bright spot this week. And boy did they bring the drama! We don’t even have time to fully invest our concern in Ashley’s marital issues or the fact that Gizelle’s dad is not in favor of her getting back together with Jamal, because I can’t think about anything except the fight between Monique and Candiace. That was epic and also very confusing-if you’re like me and really want to understand what went down, I would highly recommend reading this and this and this.
I thought it would be fun to put together some of my most memorable housewives fights to see how they compare and live on in our memories. If you click on the photos, it will take you to video clip of the fight, but I really recommend watching the whole episode to get the true impact. There are so many fights that I could have put in here-Aviva throwing her leg on the table, Teresa flipping the table, Sheree pulling Kim’s wig, but these are just some that have really haunted me for one reason or another.
1) Lisa Rinna vs Kim Richards in Amsterdam:
This fight was wild because it seems to come out of nowhere and we rarely get this level of anger or physical aggression on BH. Do we think Rinna actually lost control of her temper or was this a carefully calibrated display? Also, we still don’t know what rumors about Harry Hamlin were motivating Lisa Rinna to get so mad! I can’t believe that Kim has never actually let that slip at any point, and now I can’t stop wondering what it was.
2) Vicki vs Gretchen at the Bunco Party
The look on Vicki’s face during this fight has been burned into my brain for years, although I can’t even remember what this fight was about-something to do with Brooks, I’m guessing. It’s more about the terrible 80’s fashion and the crazy eyes than the actual fight.
3) Bethenny vs Ramona in the Berkshires
Mention It All! The GIFs that came out of this moment are so golden. Ramona hurled the craziest accusations at Bethenny in an attempt to take her down, but it epically failed and only made Ramona look jealous and lame. Bethenny really isn’t afraid to mention it all, which is part of what makes her such an amazing Housewife. Plus her facial expressions were epic.
4) Joe Giudice vs Joe Gorga in New Jersey
I mean, these two knuckleheads grappling on the floor during a family retreat was so classic RHONJ. It was clear even then that Joe Gorga had a heart of gold and Joe Giudice was not so great, but I also loved the rivalry between Melissa and Theresa and the blurry images of everyone in Uggs in an empty ballroom.
5) Kim vs Kyle in the limo and 6) Kim and Kyle vs Brandi at Game Night
Wow, Kim and Kyle gave us so much in the early seasons of the show. These fights still linger in my memories (and I bet in Brandi’s too), and I never want to run into either of the Richard’s sisters in a back alley if they think I’ve done them wrong. Their sister dynamic makes for great tv and I hope that they’re still in a good place with each other.
