Weekly Bravo Cocktail Party: Books by Real Housewives

The ladies of Potomac did their best this week to fill the void left by the other franchises, and boy did they try hard! Karen is having her best season yet, Gizelle is bringing unneccesary shade and an unnecessary bodyguard (seriously, she’s worried about Monique bringing down Jamal’s repuatation?!?), and Ashley can never seem to find a babysitter, which is something I can definitely identify with!

But placing all of our Housewife needs on these six ladies is too much pressure for them, so I rounded up a comprehensive list of books by Housewives to fill the void. Now, not every book is on here, for example Bethenny and Theresa are both very prolific authors so I couldn’t include all of the volumes of Skinny Girl and Fabulicious titles. I did unearth some amazing gems, like novels by Sheree and Tinsley, a parenting book by Alex McCord and a diet book by Kelly Killoren Bensimon. Some have acknowledged co-authors and some we just suspect ghost writers (cough, cough Carole). I’ve read a concerning number of them already, which I’m not sure if I should be proud of or embarrassed by, and now that I know how many more there are, I’m getting onto my library website and filling out some request forms!

Autobiographies

It’s clear to me that almost every housewife has a memoir or lifestyle book, except the ladies from Dallas, so they really need to get on it. It’s almost embarrassing for them at this point. If they want to share their life experiences or struggles, then they should go the memoir route (I could see this for Stephanie or maybe DeAndra). If you want to boss people around then you go with the lifestyle book (definitely a good option for Kameron or Mama Dee).

Cocktails and Cookbooks

This category is dominated by infinite books from Bethenny and Teresa. These ladies have not been sitting around-they’ve been shaking up cocktails and manning the grill all in an effort to teach us how to cook Italian food in a healthy way or get drunk on the fewest calories possible. I’m in!

Novels

Question: Why does Gizelle look like a vampire on this cover? It seems very strange for a novel about a pastor’s wife. Actually, I may have just talked myself into reading the book so I can find out if she becomes a vampire or if it’s just really random cover art!
