Spring and Early Summer Beauty Reset

Dinah

  • bareMinerals Complexion Rescue - This has been my go-to for a few years now, but it gives the perfect amount of coverage for every day wear during the summer - just the right mix of color correction and letting my actual skin come through. It also has SPF 30 and layers well over sunscreen.

  • Supergoop - By now, it’s pretty clear that Eloise and I both love Supergoop - especially in the summer. My daily skincare includes either the Unseen Sunscreen or Matte Screen which is the best for my oily t-zone, I always have Defense Refresh in my purse to spray on over makeup during the day, and my new obsession is their Part Powder - it works like a dry shampoo and keeps me from burning my part, which I always seem to do on days I’m not wearing a hat!

  • Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask - Perfect for summer skin - it soothes sunburns, gives a big dose of moisture but also does a great job of detoxifying. The perfect balance for clogged skin from sweat and sunblock that needs some help with sun repair.

  • Sally Hansen Gel Manicure - I feel so much more put together when I have a manicure, but with Covid, I make it to the nail salon so much less, and with summer, my manicures tend to chip quickly because of all the swimming, sunscreen and activity. Last month I gave the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel a shot, and I love it. My manicures last much longer, the color selection is great and I can do it all at home!

  • Megababe Thigh Rescue - It took me way too long to realize that there are products out there to help with chafing! My thighs definitely touch, and Megababe Thigh Rescue is the holy grail product for preventing it. I keep it in my bag all summer.

  • Lush Ocean Salt - Since I shave my legs (and other parts) more this time of year, I like to ramp up my exfoliation so that my shave is as smooth as possible. Enter Ocean Salt, which has fine and coarse sea salt, lime and vodka for cell turnover, and avocado to soften things up. It’s a total game changer!

  • CANMAKE Lasting Multi Eye Base - Eye makeup tends to melt right off of my face in the summer, so if I want it to stick around, I have to wear a primer. I discovered this one a few years ago and it has saved my summer look! A tiny bit goes a long way - I usually put it on before I blow dry my hair, let it sink it, then wipe away anywhere that there is extra (sometimes there is a little bit in my eyelid creases). My eye makeup goes on super smoothly, and stays on all night!

  • Glossier Lash Slick and Boy Brow: This is my go to natural mascara, for days when my blond eyelashes and brows need a little definition but I don’t want to look like I’m wearing make up. I have super dry eyes and am very hard on mascara, but this stays on so well and doesn’t flake or sweat off in the hot sun.

  • Clark’s Botanical Soothing Marine Cream: This is my favorite moisturizer for warmer months. It has light texture, soothing extracts to calm skin and protect against free radicals and a little bit of glycolic acid to exfoliate so I don’t get clogged pores.

  • Biossance Squalane and Elderberry Cleanser: In the winter, I usually use the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, but this spring, I want to try these newly restocked cleanser from Biossance. It was sold out for months and is supposed to be amazing at gently but deeply cleaning the skin, which is perfect for days when I’m caked in sunscreen or sweat.

  • Clarin’s Lip Comfort Oil: I have eternally chapped lips and I love to have a little pop of something on them in the summer, but nothing too heavy and this lip oil from Clarin’s get rave reviews. It’s supposed to plump and moisturize and give a subtle wash of color.

  • Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen: As Dinah pointed out above, we both love Supergoop! I use the Play for the beach and the kids, but on days when I want something lighter on my face, the Unseen Sunscreen is perfect.

  • RMS Beauty Cream: For those days when you want a little bit of color but don’t want to look make-upy. It’s also super clean and organic. I’ve also been dying to try the new Rare Beauty liquid blush-it’s a little more concentrated in color and supposed to have great staying power.

  • I Dew Care Mini Masks: This trio of Korean mini wash-off masks looks perfect for days when your skin needs a little extra TLC and with three different masks, you can cover a lot of skin concerns for $15. You can soother, unclog pores, and hydrate. Can more than 3k Amazon reviews be wrong?

  • Crest Whitening Pen: Now that masks are coming off, I’m back to worrying about whether or not my teeth are white enough! I have all of the dentist approved whitening trays, etc., but this is a great option for quick on the go brightening. It doesn’t last forever, but it does a good job at quickly refreshing the whiteness of your teeth at anytime of day. I’ll rub it on while I’m putting on my skin care or make up and let it do it’s thing.
