Our Favorite Podcasts

We love podcasts! We both love to walk and run outdoors and listening to podcasts is the perfect way to make the time fly by. Plus, how else would we know what everyone else is thinking about our favorite shows, books or cultural issues. I have to admit that most of the podcasts that I listen to are on the light and relaxing side of things-I keep downloading ones that I think would make me a better person, but then I never actually listen to them because I just want to relax and have fun while I’m out on a walk. Maybe in 2021 I’ll try harder? For now, these are our favorites for relaxing, laughing, or feeling like you’re listening to your friends debating the best new YA book, dating topic, or housewife drama. -E

General Lifestyle

  • Boob Sweat - Katie Sturino is one of my favorite people on the internet because she is just so honest about everything! She is the friend you would go to and talk about getting botox, freezing your eggs, what your favorite bra is, without judgement. Her podcast is much of the same, highlighting female founders, size inclusive brands and the real life things that women in their 30’s and 40’s are talking about. - D

  • Bad on Paper - Grace Atwood and Becca Freeman have a monthly book club that started out as YA focused but has now expanded to include all kinds of genres. In the weeks in between they talk about beauty, dating, careers, politics-anything and everything that interests them! It’s like listening to your friends talk about things with very cool guests. -E

Wellness

  • Feel Good Effect - We’ve talked about this podcast before, but host Robyn Conley Downs focuses on the message “gentle is the new perfect” and has an impressive research background that she uses to highlight small mindset shifts that will help your wellness. Her voice is VERY soothing and calm and she brings in interesting guests that aren’t on every other podcast. - D

  • Be Well by Kelly- The author of Body Love and Body Love Every Day, Kelly Leveque is my go to nutrition expert. On her podcast, she interviews experts in nutrition and wellness, with a wide range of topics from hormone imbalance to sleep to breast milk to exercise. Her guests are always very well spoken and I especially enjoy some of the podcast on children’s nutrition and managing stress. -E

Bravo

  • Watch What Crappens - What makes Ronnie and Ben, the hosts of WWC stand out are their hilarious impressions of the various Bravolebs. Each episode recaps a different show, so you get a new ep almost every day of the week. Some of their running jokes are hilarious, like Trixie Monocle, the fictional singer they credit the background music to, while others can be a tiny bit cringey, like their impression of Ashley Darby’s baby on RHOP. - D

  • Bitch Sesh - Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider talk Housewives and a little bit of everything else on this podcast. Some of the stuff about their personal lives can be a bit TMI, but their takes on the Housewives, especially their love of “boots on the ground” information, their willingness to unapologetically flip flop on their opinions of people and to share wild rumors that they’ve done no recon always have me laughing. -E

  • Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino. If David from Schitt’s Creek had a podcast where he talked about Housewives, this would be it. Danny Pellegrino’s voice somehow reminds me of David and he’s equally as funny, and mostly good humored with just a dash of mean. Let’s just say that he’s concerned about some of the choices that the ladies are making and I share those concerns. -E

Misc

  • Rom Com Pods - Each season is a different love story, with voice actors and a new setting. I definitely liked the second season more than the first, as it was set on a political campaign and the characters were more of a fantasy, but also more appealing! - D

  • Scam Goddess - A favorite humor podcast of mine, Lacey has a different guest on each week to discuss scammers large and small and the cons they are pulling off, or getting caught doing! She’s highlighted some of my favorite internet personalities and the episode where she and Jameela Jamil discuss self-proclaimed scammer Caroline Calloway and her trainwreck choices is a classic. - D

  • The Blonde Files - Arielle Lore (married to Chuck Lorre) is a former addict, current LA resident who loves talking about beauty and wellness trends and plastic surgery. It’s rare to hear someone be so open about their addiction journey and plastic surgery, and I love listening to her solo podcasts and her ones with expert guests. The episodes where she interviews Melinda Farina, a woman who helps patients find the best plastic surgeons for their particular issues, was so fascinating! -E
