What We’re Reading and Watching

  • Taylor Swift dropped a surprise album, evermore, last week and it was the best Christmas gift that we could have received! The sister album to folklore, it has a similar story telling vibe that’s more mellow than her big pop albums, but evermore goes in a country direction that we enjoyed. There’s lots of gossip about the dorothea track, and if that might be the name of Gigi and Zayn’s baby and whether or not Selena Gomez was the inspiration for the character, and I particularly liked willow and ‘tis the damn season too. -E

  • It took me just about two days to finish Behind Closed Doors, a zippy marital thriller about a seemingly perfect couple that is hiding a big secret. I loved this one, especially the timeline hopping and how it helped drive the narrative. - D

  • Did anyone else watch The Prom on Netflix this weekend? I only knew the basic premise of this musical before I watched it, but the cast (Meryl, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Rannells, Kerry Washington) sold me! It was absolutely delightful, filled with sequins, great musical numbers and a very uplifting plot. - D

What We’re Buying

  • Madewell is making some very cute earring these days and I snapped up a few particularly cute ones from Nordstrom’s for stocking stuffers -E

  • I have been in full holiday shopping mode, so most of my buying is still a secret, but I did gift an adorable Evergreen Pillar Candle from Anthropologie to a friend. It smelled so good and matches her bright and feminine decor style, while still being Christmas-y! It isn’t on their website, but I did see a few in stores. - D

  • New party clothes haven’t been high on my priority list, but I did add this cute leopard tunic to a recent J. Crew Factory order and I love it! A great long-sleeved option that isn’t a sweater, the perfect length and even a little bit low cut to be cute enough for a date. - D

What We’re Making

  • Peppermint Bark is one of our favorite holiday treats, and I found an easy recipe from Dinner at the Zoo that the girls and I are excited to make tonight.
